Web3 MMOFPS game MetalCore has entered its Season 2 phase, with a total prize pool of over $100,000 USD in $MCG tokens up for grabs.
Titled Gearbreakers Glory, Season 2 sees the game complete its high-profile transition from Immutable to Solana, putting its faith in the Layer-1 to supercharge its future.
Upon entering the game, players will return to the massive open-world gameplay MetalCore game is known for, the introduction of fresh leaderboards, brand-new features, and renewed opportunities to take home a share of this season’s $100,000 USD prize pool.
What is MetalCore game?
Developed by Studio369, MetalCore is a free-to-play, open-world mech shooter game, built on Solana.
Inspired by MMOFPS titles like PlanetSide, players traverse a vast open world by land, sea, and air. They engage in large-scale multiplayer conflicts against rival factions to seize strategic objectives. Similarly, picture Battlefield, but amplified to the max.
In 2024, MetalCore launched the spin-off idle browser game, MetalCore Missions, and debuted its ecosystem-wide $MCG token. The migration from Immutable to Solana, which began this year, is set to complete in Season 2.

What’s new in MetalCore Season 2?
This new season, running until December 31 at 17 UTC, focuses on the Gearbreakers faction. A small group of intelligent, technologically-advanced humans.
The $100,000 USD $MCG prize pool is split across the main MetalCore Prime experience, and the MetalCore Missions idle game as follows:
- MetalCore Prime: $75,000 USD in prizes, split across the 100 players with the most Marks
- MetalCore Missions: $25,000 USD in prizes, split across the 250 players with the most Merit
MetalCore’s Season 2 Season Pass is now available for purchase. Players become eligible to earn $MCG and can buy it using either in-game Holy Credits or the premium Shards currency. All three tiers – Bronze, Silver and Gold – make players eligible for $MCG rewards, with the higher-tiers offering additional in-game bonuses.
