What is Blast Royale?
Blast Royale is a mobile battle royale title, built on Ethereum, and available on both iOS and Android devices.
Developed by First Light Games, players jump in to the battle arena as a contender, looting items, taking on opponents in fast-paced encounters, and vying to become the last player standing as the play zone closes in around them.
Blockchain technology lies at the heart of Blast Royale, with players able to own their characters, weapons, flags and more as NFTs. The $NOOB token is central to this experience, with the intention to drive the Blastverse and become a reward for in-game success.
When will Blast Royale shut down?
According to team representative Renny via a statement posted to the game’s official Discord, Blast Royale will close down on June 30, 2025. At this point, all development efforts from First Light Games will cease, and the servers will be shut down – with further information on this to be shared in due course.
First Light Games have decided to make the code for Blast Royale open source on June 1, 2025. This will allow developers and the Blast Royale community to pick up the project, with First Light stating that they will “put no restrictions in place”, and will offer “direct access to our developers, designers, and marketers” for anyone who wishes to “take the game in new directions”.
This news comes merely weeks after the release of Noob Season 4 on March 31, 2025, with Blast Royale retaining a dedicated community and playerbase to this day.
