Cambria Gold Rush: The Paymasters Begins, Running for 14 Days

Web3 MMORPG Cambria Gold Rush: The Paymasters has officially launched on April 11 and is set to run for 14 days, introducing new gameplay mechanics, a unique class, and an enhanced rewards system.

This season offers players the chance to explore a world where loot can be collected and exchanged for rewards. The introduction of the Paymasters class shifts the economic focus of the game, allowing players to participate in passive earning opportunities.

As the season progresses, players will be able to earn rewards through both active participation and strategic investments in the in-game economy.

What is Cambria Gold Rush?

Cambria: Gold Rush is an experimental risk-to-earn MMORPG set in a top-down 2D fantasy world.

Players begin in the Capital City, which acts as a safe zone, and venture into PvPvE zones outside the city to collect loot such as Artifacts, Curios, and Gems. These items can be exchanged for two primary in-game currencies: Royal Favor and Coins. The more loot players collect, the higher their potential share of the seasonal prize pool.

To participate fully, players must mint a Royal Charter for 0.02 $ETH (around 53 $RON). Whilst the game is free-to-play, free players are limited in their activities and the Royal Charter allows players to earn rewards and regenerate Energy daily.

What’s new in Season 2?

Season 2 introduces the Paymasters class, which is designed around passive earning within the game’s economy.

Paymasters can deposit Royal Charters into the Syndicate Vault, where they receive Syndicate Shares at a 1:1 ratio. These shares grant them passive income based on the loot collected by other players. As such, Paymasters profit from the work of those actively gathering loot in PvPvE zones.

Two taxes are associated with the Paymasters class:

Top guilds and Founders’ NFT holders are exempt from certain taxes, whilst other guilds must pay a smaller 5% tax instead.

How to earn in Cambria Gold Rush: The Paymasters?

Season 2 of Cambria Gold Rush offers a rewards structure based on in-game activity, with the main prize pool distributed in $USDC.

Players earn coins by collecting and turning in loot during gameplay. These coins determine their share of the prize pool, with at least 90% of the pool allocated based on the total number of coins held by players who meet the minimum withdrawal threshold. The remaining share is split between those reporting critical bugs (5%) and those contributing through content creation or referrals (5%).

In parallel, a separate leaderboard tracks Royal Favor earned during the season. Players gain Royal Favor by turning in loot, managing guilds, or participating as Paymasters. Higher rankings on this leaderboard grant access to reward containers called Bribes, which contain in-game items such as Trinkets and tickets for a Land NFT raffle. Trinkets are tied to airdrop eligibility, with a total value exceeding $1 million expected for Season 2.

Additionally, players can earn Abstract XP on a weekly basis depending on several factors, including Royal Favor gained, number of Trinkets obtained, Royal Charters minted, and purchases of Energy Orbs.
