NEXPACE, the web3 initiative backed by gaming giant Nexon, has officially launched MapleStory N, a blockchain-integrated version of the long-running MMORPG franchise.
Alongside the game’s debut, the $NXPC token—central to the new player-owned economy—has gone live across major global exchanges including Binance, Bybit, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate.io, Upbit, and Bithumb.
Built on Avalanche via AvaCloud, MapleStory N operates gas-free on its dedicated Henesys subnet and is now available on PC.
What is the NXPC token?
The NXPC token is the core utility and governance asset within the MapleStory Universe (MSU) ecosystem.
It enables players to interact with the game’s blockchain features by exchanging NXPC for NFT bundles (a process called Fission), or converting NFTs back into NXPC (Fusion). This Fusion-Fission model is designed to maintain economic balance by regulating supply and preventing item inflation, a persistent challenge in traditional MMORPGs.
NXPC also powers creator rewards across MSU’s broader platform, allowing users to contribute content—such as mini-games, applications, or in-game assets—and receive compensation based on their impact.
What to expect from the game?
MapleStory N blends the familiar 2D side-scrolling gameplay and pixel art style of the original MapleStory with blockchain-powered features. Players engage in quests and combat whilst managing items that carry real-world value as NFTs, traded within a player-driven marketplace.
Running on Avalanche’s Henesys subnet, the game enables users to mint, trade, and craft items without paying transaction fees. Items are finite and tradable to help prevent inflation and preserve value. The in-game currency NESO can be earned through gameplay and converted into NXPC tokens to access blockchain functionalities.
Additionally, the platform includes Synergy Apps, which empower the community to create content that extends beyond the core MMORPG experience. This ecosystem encourages player creativity, enabling the development of new games, tools, and digital assets within the MapleStory Universe.
