Finding success in NFT art follows much of the same mantras as traditional art: consistency, community, and a lot of luck. Here are some general tips to help find success:
- Specialise in a unique niche. Develop a style, brand and message that works for you. Think about what you can do differently. Can you connect your NFT art to both physical and digital pieces? What access will you give your community? What utility can you offer?
- Develop your NFT knowledge. To stand out, you’ll need to know what NFT technology does and does not allow. Can you take your art in a direction that has yet to be explored?
- Embrace rarity. It can be tempting to try and sell 100 pieces of a single NFT artwork – but how will this impact long-term value, scarcity, and community sentiment? When in doubt, it is best to reduce the number of NFT artworks you are minting.
- Build a community. Grow your network by speaking to other artists and collectors, and become an active contributor to the industry at large. Be yourself, and not only will you make friends and acquaintances, but you’ll find an audience for your own work.
- Create value for your holders. What can you give your holders that is valuable to them? Perhaps holder-only merch? Opportunities to chat with you? Unique art just for them?
- Think outside the box. NFT art can do things that neither physical nor digital art can, such as change over time, give holders priority to your future work, or provide access to special utility. NFT art can also be exhibited in metaverse galleries, which can get your art seen by entirely new audiences.
