Popular Web3 metaverse platform Nifty Island has debuted its long-awaited $ISLAND token, allowing players to profit from their in-game experiences and holdings.
With the launch of the $ISLAND token, Nifty Island have also debuted their $ISLAND staking feature, which allows players to gain a host of in-game benefits – such as boosts, consumables and upgrades.
At the time of writing, $ISLAND has a market cap of $17 million USD, with a fully-diluted valuation of $47.5 million USD – having fallen slightly from a $50M+ valuation upon launch.
What is Nifty Island?
Nifty Island is a free-to-play metaverse game, built on Ethereum.
Developed by Nyft Studios, Nifty Island is driven primarily by user-generated content. Players acquire, design and build their own 3D environments on individual islands that can support a range of casual gaming modes, such as Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch and Foot Races – with creators rewarded by enticing players to spend time on their islands.
The game supports 3D models from a huge number of the most popular NFT communities. Holders of Bored Apes, Pudgy Penguins, Cool Cats and many more NFTs have the ability to play as their NFT avatars in-game.
Debuting in January 2024, Nifty Island was incredibly popular on release, quickly gathering a huge variety of themed games, islands, and experiences. Today, the game continues to enjoy a dedicated playerbase, alongside an ever-growing list of supported 3D avatars and unique island environments.
How is the $ISLAND token performing?
$ISLAND debuted on December 17 and has seen high trading volume ever since.
Reaching as high as $0.075 USD on its first day, the token has since declined to below $0.05 USD – which still gives the token a $17 million USD market cap and a fully-diluted valuation that near $50 million USD.
On X, the Nifty Island team has remarked that “the best is yet to come”, alluding to plans for 2025 that could see their ecosystem grow even further.
