NFT marketplace Rarible have launched a new initiative titled Here For The Art, which aims to “spotlight art and artists in every way possible”.
To mark this launch, Rarible have created a free-to-mint NFT, also titled Here For The Art, that’s available to claim until the end of this week.
The initiative hopes to introduce “incredible drops, deep artist connections, and IRL events that bring the vision to life”, with the first activation to take place at Art Blocks Marfa Weekend 2024, taking place November 14-17.
What is Rarible’s Here For The Art initiative?
According to Rarible, Here For The Art outlines their “recommitment to all the artists and collectors in our space”, pushing art back to the front of the conversation.
“We believe in building a future of on-chain culture, bringing visions to life with intention, and connecting with people IRL. Art is the heart, and we’re all in.” said Rarible via X.
The presence of Rarible at Art Blocka Marfa Weekend 2024 aims to kick-off this new initiative, with the expectation that further interactions – both in-person and online – are to follow in due course.
How do I mint the free NFT?
The free NFT that Rarible have made available as part of this new initiative – also titled Here For The Art – is available to claim via the Rarible website.
Though the NFT has no prescribed cost, buyers will still have to pay gas fees on Ethereum to acquire the NFT. At the time of writing, these are hovering around $3.50 USD.
Holders of this NFT will receive a number of perks, including priority access to Rarible x @9dccxyz bucket hats at Marfa Weekend, automatic entry into a raffle (even for non-attendants), and a host of “special perks at future IRL events”.
The free mint is set to close at 17 UTC on November 17.
