Noted visionary artist Roger Haus has an auction for his NFT, titled HAI Guardian, currently open via art-focused NFT marketplace Foundation.
HAI Gaurdian is part of Haus’ AI Manga series, and portrays a brunette-haired girl with part of her face shielded by a protective, dark-skinned dragon, set against a bold background.
The NFT is currently open to bids on Foundation, with a starting bid of 0.125 ETH.
Who is Roger Haus?
Roger Haus is an award-winning visionary artist from Barcelona. Taking inspiration from the world’s most notable artists – and particular those who worked in surrealism – Haus has over a decade of experience in blending digital illustration, AI, and animation, exhibiting at world-leading venues across the globe.
He is perhaps best-known as the founder of Exquisite Workers – a unique artist collective, platform and social media presence that debuted in April 2020. Exquisite Workers brings together leading artists from around the world to create collaborative NFT artworks, created in a roundtable “Exquisite Corpse” style.
Haus was trained at La Llotja Art and Crafts Academy in Barcelona – where Picasso and Miró honed their craft – and began utilising AI in his work in 2015. He became active in the NFT industry in 2020, and has since minted countless works – mostly of which on Ethereum, which are available on NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea.
What is Roger Haus’ HAI Guardian?
HAI Guardian is an NFT artwork created by Roger Haus in April 2024, minted on Ethereum.
Part of his 600-piece AI Manga collection HAI, this HAI Guardian NFT was the result of an invitation by Galleria Perpetua in Milan to inaugurate “数码巨龙 | Whirls of Vapor” on April 5, 2024, in celebration of the Year of the Dragon.
The piece depicts a young, brunette-haired female character, with part of her face concealed by a menacing dark-skinned dragon. Warm tones run throughout, with the dragon’s piercing orange eyes working in tandem with the girl’s blush and a bold orange background.
According to Haus, the two subjects “symbolize gentleness, power, and anger, uniting like yin and yang,” adding that “their black and red colors evoke protection and strength, highlighting the duality of good and bad, akin to the relationship between humanity and AI.”
As of writing, the NFT is currently available for auction on Foundation, with a starting bid price of 0.125 ETH.
