The Bornless to Launch Extended 48-hour Fractured Souls Playtest

Horror-themed extraction first-person shooter ‘The Bornless’ is holding a new playtest event called Fractured Souls from June 7 to June 8.

This session extends server availability to 48 hours, allowing players from multiple time zones more opportunity to participate and introduces several new features including a trading system, quests, visual improvements, new locations, and expanded character options.

Progress made during the event will be saved and carried forward into the upcoming public testing phase at Steam Next Fest.

What is The Bornless?

The Bornless is an online multiplayer horror extraction shooter.

Players engage in matches where they gather valuable resources and compete against others in a PvPvE environment. The game is set on Farmouth Island—a location filled with various hazards, secrets, and hostile entities—wherein players can select from multiple playable characters and demons, each with unique abilities tailored to different play styles.

The game emphasizes strategy, exploration, and resource management as players navigate the environment and interact with other participants.

What’s new in the Fractured Souls playtest?

The Fractured Souls playtest for The Bornless runs from 7–8 June and introduces several updates aimed at improving accessibility, gameplay depth, and visual quality.

How to participate in the Public Alpha?

Participation in the Fractured Souls playtest requires a Steam key.

These keys may be obtained through official announcements on social media, giveaways on the game’s Discord server, signing up to the newsletter, or by wishlisting the game on Steam or the Epic Games Store whilst players who participated in previous playtests and already hold keys will have automatic access.

For those unable to join the playtest, The Bornless will be publicly available during Steam Next Fest, which runs from June 9 to June 16.
