American music and art project Young & Sick has dropped 96 Flowers – a series of 96 1-of-1 Bitcoin Ordinals of hand-drawn flowers – on Magic Eden‘s Ordinals launchpad.
Available as of 17 UTC on January 15, these 96 Flowers Ordinals are each inscribed on a Silk Road palindrome satoshi – apart from one. This is Flower No. 69, which is the first ever inscription on an uncommon, alpha Silk Road satoshi, and features an asymmetric design – which will be auctioned on January 16 at 17 UTC.
Four distinct mint phases are available to obtain these NFT collectibles, with all tiers priced at 0.0069 BTC – worth over $680 USD at the time of writing. The pre-sale phase has concluded, with the guaranteed allowlist phase currently ongoing, and first-come-first-served and public minting phases to follow.
What is Young & Sick?
Young & Sick is an American music, art and fashion project. It is the solo project and brainchild of Dutch artist Nick van Hofwegen, and has been active since 2011.
Both the artistic and the musical output from the project has been highly-regarded. Young and Sick’s discography includes their self-titled 2014 debut album, followed by a series of 6 EPs in the years thereafter.
Artistically, Young & Sick has worked with the likes of Foster the People, Maroon 5, and Skrillex. The work of van Hofwegen often features psychedelic themes, bold designs and bright colours, with his early-to-mid 2010s work especially lauded, praised and utilised by a who’s who of big-name musicians at the time.
