South Korean mobile gaming giant Netmarble have partnered with The Sandbox to launch Netmarble Town in the popular metaverse – which is now available to explore.
Players in The Sandbox can traverse an environment featuring characters from some of Netmarble’s most popular titles, including Seven Knights, StoneAge, and Meta World: My City.
Until October 11, a number of exclusive missions, NFTs and $SAND rewards are up for grabs – all revolving around the experiences within Netmarble Town – with 75,000 $SAND (approx. $18,000 USD) for players to compete for.
What is Netmarble?
Netmarble is a Seoul-based mobile game development studio, founded in 2000.
In the East, they are best-known for Lineage 2: Revolution – a hugely-popular MMORPG released in 2015 that continues to this day. In the West, they are best-known for titles such as Arena of Valor, Star Wars: Force Arena, and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds.
The studio closed its metaverse subsidiary in January 2024, though continues to explore blockchain gaming and the industry at large.
What can I do in Netmarble Town?
Netmarble Town centres around a hub, where players can explore the company’s vast array of titles through themed areas, featuring their iconic characters and narratives.
Away from the main hub, players can also experience Meta World: My City, a Netmarble-developed single-player city management title.
The 75,000 $SAND prize pool breaks down as follows:
- 50,000 $SAND is set aside for avatar holders
- 15,000 $SAND is available for those who complete specific challenges during the event
- 10,000 $SAND is set aside for buyers of limited-edition Netmarble Friends or Meta World NFTs
The event also celebrates the launch of Netmarble’s Seven Knights & Stone Age Avatar collection. Holders of these NFTs can become their favourite characters from these franchises within The Sandbox.
