Yuga Labs CEO and co-founder Greg Solano has revealed plans to reward holders of both Bored Ape Yacht Club and Otherdeed NFTs with “something we have planned” in 2025.
This reveal came after being asked how Yuga planned to maintain engagement in their metaverse project Otherside, now that the initial hype had died down.
Citing a “new, more sober and friendly regulatory environment for crypto”, Solano stated their “plans to reward BAYC and Otherdeed holders” via a new initiative planned to release in 2025.

What are Bored Ape and Otherdeed NFTs?
Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of 10,000 avatar NFTs, minted on Ethereum. Each Ape combines a number of traits, including facial expressions, clothing, accessories and more.
Holders of Bored Ape NFTs enjoy access to members-only spaces, exclusive merchandise, and in-person events. This includes the annual ApeFest, plus priority access to other products in the Yuga Labs portfolio, such as Mutant Apes, Otherside and more.
Otherdeed for Otherside is a collection of over 44,000 parcels of NFT land for the Otherside metaverse, minted on Ethereum. Each Otherdeed represents a land plot within Otherside, with varying biomes, resources and artifacts – and even a chance to discover a mystical Koda.
To date, holders of Otherdeed NFTs have enjoyed priority access to playtests of Otherside – alongside other holders of Yuga Labs assets. It is understood that Otherdeed holders are set to receive a reward from Yuga Labs later this year, though details have yet to be revealed.

What could Yuga Labs 2025 ‘reward’ be?
The past few months have seen many of the top NFT collections double-down on token launches.
Pudgy Penguins debuted their $PENGU token in December 2024, whilst Azuki debuted their $ANIME token in January 2025. Although Bored Apes already benefit from the $APE token, the Otherside metaverse is yet to have a dedicated ecosystem token.
With Solano expressing that both Bored Ape holders (the premier NFT collectible in Yuga’s main ecosystem) and Otherdeed holders (the NFT collection for Otherside) will be rewarded, that leads us to believe that Yuga are exploring options to launch an Otherside-focused token in 2025. Only time will tell!
