Axie Infinity has launched Axie Adventure, a major expansion to its Homeland game mode, allowing players to send their NFT axies into a new passive adventure mode.
Previously, only NPCs could embark on adventures, but now player-owned axies are at the forefront.
This update brings personalized gameplay and rewards, making axies central to Homeland’s experience.
What is Axie Adventure?
Axie Adventure is an expansion to Axie Infinity: Homeland. On top of building settlements and gathering resources, Axie Adventure allows NFT Axies to embark on their own adventures, battling CPU foes to earn Axie Experience Points (AXP) and climb the Adventure Leaderboard.
By engaging their Axies in battles, players unlock a variety of in-game rewards, making their Axies more valuable as the grow, develop and train.
Axie Adventure introduces several new mechanics, including Combat Levels, Adventure Fatigue and Power Rate, requiring players to plan their adventure setups carefully to ensure the best outcomes.
This ties in to the incoming Axie delegation feature, which will allow players to lend or borrow high-level Axies to improve their chances in battle. This not only serves to make these high-power Axies more valuable to holders, but gives non-holders easier access to the Axies they need to progress.
What does Axie Adventure introduce?
This update introduces several new mechanics:
- Combat Levels and Power Rate: Axies’ performance in battle depends on their level and their Altar of Atia. Players must balance both to maximize their combat efficiency. Higher Power Rates unlock more Battle Tickets – essential for repeat adventures, and for deepening your adventures.
- Adventure Fatigue: Axies can only engage in a limited number of adventures per day before becoming fatigued. This system encourages strategic use of Axies, and means that strategic use of Axies can often win out against more powerful rosters.
A number of quality of life improvements have also been made, including a multi-slot system for easier item transfers between plots, a new Storage Overview feature, and adjustments to the Auction House.
Additionally, the Moonfall Chest Overflow event, running from October 17–31, offers double rewards for players as they explore the new features. Players can expect more recurring events, fresh content, and more utility for their NFT Axies in future.
