Upcoming on-chain MMO Block Stranding has completed its first stress test, with over 120,000 transactions successfully executed during the 20-minute test.
Powered using the real-time engine MagicBlock, and utilising AI agents created through SendAI, the game was able to process over 100 transactions per second whilst remaining smooth – showcasing the proficiency of their infrastructure.
Block Stranding is expected to hold further tests later this year, and is purported to be the first truly on-chain MMORPG.

What is Block Stranding?
Block Stranding is a blockchain-native open-world sandbox-like MMORPG where players explore, craft, build and battle in PvP. Unlike conventional online games that rely on centralised servers, Block Stranding executes all game logic and player interactions through on-chain smart contracts.
The game leverages Solana’s high-throughput blockchain infrastructure, using the MagicBlock engine to handle real-time updates. For the recent test, it deployed LLM-powered AI agents to simulate user behaviour, each acting as an independent entity connected through the Solana Agent Kit developed by SendAI.
This architecture allows the game to function entirely within the decentralised ecosystem, potentially setting a precedent for how blockchain-based multiplayer games could evolve.

What’s next for Block Stranding?
Following the successful stress test, the development team plans to conduct additional trials throughout the year.
Future updates are expected to focus on refining gameplay mechanics, optimising performance, and integrating with broader elements of the Solana gaming ecosystem.
The results of this initial test suggest the project is making meaningful progress toward delivering a fully on-chain MMO—something that has yet to be realised in the web3 gaming space.
