After School Club, the debut NFT collection on the Eclipse blockchain, has minted out, raising 388 ETH – roughly $1.28 million USD – in just 45 mins.
Launched on Scope, the full allocation of After School Club’s 10,000 NFTs have now been claimed, with a guide to the various traits to be released on November 29, and the artwork for the so-called Schoolers to be revealed soon.
With the success of this debut mint, 6.305 ETH – roughly $20.7k USD – has been added to a creator fund to support other NFT artists in the ecosystem.
What is Eclipse?
Eclipse is a so-called Solana Virtual Machine Layer-2 network on Ethereum – the first of its kind – that combines the speed of Solana with the liquidity and security of Ethereum.
This “best of both worlds” network aims to become a major player in both DeFi and gaming, although projects such as After School Club are testing its capabilities as a home for NFT collections.
The Eclipse mainnet went live on November 7, and has quickly gathered an array of supporting apps, tools and services, including the likes of Pyth, Orca and EtherFi.
What is After School Club?
After School Club is a collection of 10,000 pixel-art characters, minted on Eclipse.
Created by the pseudonymous duo of Alucard and Duke +1, little has been revealed about the purpose of the collection thus far, other than its status as the first ever NFT collection on the Eclipse blockchain.
After School Club is described as; “A club of like-minded individuals who share a passion for learning, creativity, and fun. The schoolers aren’t just scholars of ASC; They’re the cool kids who are shaping the future of the Ecosystem. From the quick-witted Gecko to the gentle Rabbit, the curious Cat to the loyal Dog, the serene Fish to the playful Duck, the mysterious Skelly to the energetic Frog – each schooler finds its gang.”
