In the latest Pudgy Penguins Inner Igloo – a regular call between CEO Luca Netz and holders within the Pudgy Penguins community – sentiments were high following an inside look at the latest developments.
During the call, Netz touched on all aspects of the Pudgy ecosystem, including the $PENGU token, the recently-launched Abstract Chain, its XP system and much more. What did Luca Netz reveal in the latest Inner Igloo?
Netz revealed that Pudgy Penguins has just reached 40 billion views on GIPHY, with billions more on Tenor. This serves to highlight just how much the Pudgy character has surpassed Web3 audiences to become part of the mainstream cultural zeitgeist.
When it comes to products, there are two noteworthy updates. Abstract is working towards becoming a seamless Web3 onboarding tool, with a “zero to one” philosophy, whilst a new app called Portal will become a distribution engine that helps to “drive mass adoption”.
On the token front, emphasis is being placed on $PENGU being “a cultural phenomenon”, rather than just another token. The Abstract XP system, which rewards points that are purported to be for an allocation of a future Abstract token, will be adjusted to reward long-term supporters rather than short-term opportunists.
The Inner Igloo wrapped up with three major developments. $PENGU will soon be listed on Coinbase, opening the doors to a whole new audience. Netz confirmed that a strategic acquisition deal – which they raised funds for – has been completed, with details to be shared soon, and a vision document will soon be released, documenting the story of Pudgy Penguins, the Pudgy movement, and their emphasis on culture and utility, rather than hype.

With the launch of Abstract now behind them, it’s clear that Pudgy Penguins continues to have many major milestones ahead in its future.
Their social presence continues to grow rapidly, with 1.7 million followers on Instagram and over 600,000 followers on TikTok – and with Abstract giving the team the platform to chase mass adoption, it’s clear that the team has a big year ahead, and one in which we could see ambitious goals fulfilled.
It is clear that Pudgy Penguins are putting all of the foundations in place for the brand to really take off later in 2025. With the upcoming vision document, Coinbase listing, and perhaps even the strategic acquisition, the Pudgy brand could take Web3 to all-new heights.
