Art-focused NFT marketplace MakersPlace have announced that they will host an exhibition at the inaugural Miami Digital Art Fair, held on December 3.
Curated by MakersPlace Senior Director & Curator Jessica Marinaro, the exhibition will present new works by a trio of celebrated visual artists: Yoshi Sodeoka, Ivona Tau, and Rob Dixon (known as Radix).
The Miami Digital Art Fair is a brand-new event for 2024. It will be held at the BeyBey Miami on December 3 – just a week prior to, and a mile away from, the globally-recognised Art Basel Miami.
What will the MakersPlace exhibition include?
Following MakersPlace‘s sold-out debut generative art series, En Mi Cuerpo by Juan Rodríguez García, which debuted at Art Basel in June 2024, the exhibition will see a second generative art series by Rob Dixon, titled Exposures.
The launch of Exposures will feature a blind mint powered by GMStudio, with an array of works by Sodeoka and Tau to also be available at the event.
Tickets for the Miami Digital Art Fair – which will feature over 100 artists, alongside a range of events and panels – are still available, with pre-registration required.
What impact will the MakersPlace exhibition have?
Marinaro is excited to reveal the works by Sodeoka, Tau and Dixon at the Miami Digital Art Fair.
“I am thrilled to be presenting three new bodies of work by this diverse group of incredible artists, all centered around the curatorial theme of merging natural and digital aesthetics and phenomena in innovative ways using Generative Systems and Artificial Intelligence.
“Yoshi’s new videos evoke a utopian vision of peaceful coexistence or perhaps a dystopian future where nature is disoriented by technology—leaving viewers to interpret the narrative in their own way. Ivona’s latest series plays with the theme of seasonality through different perspectives.
“Radix’s Exposures project shows people navigating a wild and vibrant abstract world, sometimes solitary, other times en masse, but always trapped within their utopian digital distractions.”
