Web3 game Merge Pals has launched a points-based event allowing players a chance to secure a whitelist spot for the game’s upcoming Genesis NFT mint.
Running from May 13 to May 22, the “Play to Whitelist” campaign invites participants to complete a range of tasks to climb a leaderboard. The top 500 ranked players at the end of the period will receive guaranteed access to mint one of the game’s Genesis NFTs.
Whilst full details of the mint, including the date and price, have not yet been announced, the whitelist is wallet-specific and cannot be transferred to another address.
What is Merge Pals?
Merge Pals is an idle-style game built on the Ronin network, where players complete daily missions and manage in-game characters.
The game uses blockchain-based assets, some of which can be traded or upgraded. Its gameplay includes social features, progression mechanics, and character merging.
The game supports both MetaMask and Ronin Wallet, though players are encouraged to use the Ronin Wallet for compatibility and to receive an in-game welcome package.
What are Genesis Pals?
Genesis Pals are a limited series of 5,000 NFTs designed for use within Merge Pals. These NFTs provide access to gameplay features not available to regular users. For example, Genesis Pals are required to participate in boss missions and exclusive rankings.
Each Genesis Pal can be upgraded through a process called “Awakening,” which alters the NFT’s appearance and enhances its performance. Awakening requires five units of a separate NFT item called Awakening Dust, obtainable through gameplay or purchase.
Genesis NFTs are also eligible for use in a rental system that allows owners to lend their NFTs to other players for in-game resources. Once minted, the NFTs will live on the Ronin blockchain.
Upgraded Genesis Pals retain their status across gameplay seasons and level up from 1 to 70, influencing their effectiveness in missions and tournaments.
How does the “Play to Whitelist” event work?
The event is live from May 13, 16:00 UTC+8, to 22 May 22, 15:59 UTC+8. Players earn points by completing specific actions:
- Spending $1 in-game: 300 points
- Daily on-chain login: 15 points
- Gacha pull: 5 points
- Quest completion: 2 points
- Mission completion: 1 point
- Referring a friend: 1 point
Players must connect a wallet to participate. The wallet used for registration will be the one whitelisted if a player qualifies. Switching wallets is not allowed after registration.
The 500 players with the most points will receive guaranteed whitelist spots for the Genesis NFT mint. Other participants may still earn additional in-game rewards such as Gacha Tickets, Awakening Dust, and Fame.
More information on the mint itself is expected after the whitelist event concludes.
