Degen
Degenerate. An NFT enthusiast who likes to make risky purchases. Also used to refer to the NFT community in general.
Diamond Hands
An NFT holder that intends to hold for a long time. The opposite of Paper Hands.
Drop
The debut of an NFT. An “NFT drop” is when an NFT is first available to purchase.
Gas
A fee paid to complete a transaction on the Ethereum blockchain.
GM
Good morning.
GN
Good night.
Mint
The creation of an NFT. During an NFT drop, an NFT is minted as soon as it is purchased. NFTs can also be minted before they are listed for sale by the artist.
NGMI
Not gonna make it. Used to express the belief that an NFT collection will decline in price.
Paper Hands
An NFT holder that will sell in the face of bad news. The opposite of Diamond Hands.
One of One
An NFT that is unique, with no duplicates. Common in NFT art and blockchain games.
Open Edition
An NFT drop where a piece of art is available for a limited time – but an unlimited number of NFTs for that art can be minted during that time period. Common in NFT art.
WAGMI
We’re all gonna make it. Used to express the belief that an NFT collection will rise in price.
