The difficult of selling an NFT depends on a few factors:
- Does the NFT have an audience? If you are selling an NFT from a popular collection, it will have an existing community, and will thus be easier to sell. If you are selling an NFT you have created, it will require promotion and community-building to find an audience.
- Is the price reasonable? Most NFT marketplaces will display the floor price – the lowest-priced NFT available to purchase from that collection. Unless your NFT has unique traits, listing above the floor price will make your NFT difficult to sell.
- Does the NFT have utility? The perks, advantages and benefits an NFT can give you are often a large part of its value. NFTs with popular utility will often fetch higher prices.
Due to very unique NFTs fetching very high prices, many believe that it is easy to sell an NFT for large amounts. The reality is that the act of selling an NFT is incredibly difficult – even more so if you’re looking to fetch a high price.
