Upcoming Web3 real-time strategy (RTS) game Pulsar has announced that it will hold its Genesis NFT sale on September 20.
This will allow players to acquire Genesis units, which are reported to have “double the HP, damage, speed, and DPS” of regular units – although prices and quantities have yet to be revealed.
The Genesis sale will end on October 18 – the same day that Pulsar’s anticipated mainnet launch is expected to be held.
What is Pulsar?
Available on Windows and Mac, Pulsar is a free-to-play massively-multiplayer online (MMO) RTS game built on Avalanche.
Players mine resources, build armies and battle other players for control of the Pulsar universe. All in-game units and structures are NFTs, and can be traded, upgraded and rebuilt as necessary.
The game is powered by the $PLSR token, which players can mine from Land NFTs. This currency can be traded on popular exchanges, or used to purchase and upgrade additional units and structures.
Pulsar is expected to hold its official mainnet launch on October 18.
What are the benefits of Genesis units?
Alongside Genesis units having double the stats of common Pulsar units, these units have a host of other benefits. For example, Genesis Mobile Depots – used in $PLSR mining – are much faster than Rare and Uncommon depots, and will therefore provide a huge advantage to players that own them.
It is likely that these Genesis units will only be available from September 20 to October 18.
Upon Pulsar’s launch on October 18, a number of new features will be added. These include an upgraded ‘Hold the Base’ mode, new units, and new unit upgrades – with additional features to be added in a Mainnet V.2 upgrade on November 1.
During this time, a $PLSR IDO will coincide with the token debuting on popular exchanges, expanding the reach of Pulsar into the wider blockchain ecosystem.
