Ragnarok Online‘s spin-off Web3 MMORPG Ragnarok: Landverse has announced that it will launch on the Ronin Network in early 2025.
This follows a soft launch on the BNB Chain in 2024, with this upcoming release on Ronin seen as the true start for the game. The BNB Chain servers will not be transferred at first, as focus shifts to the Ronin release – though legacy players can expect to see some utility for their previous items, characters and rewards in due course.
Pre-registration for the launch of Ragnarok: Landverse on Ronin is now open, with wannabe players able to connect their Ronin wallets for a chance at pre-launch rewards – and the ability to join the 400,000+ strong community of existing players.
What is Ragnarok: Landverse?
Ragnarok: Landverse is a free-to-play Web3 MMORPG, built on Ronin, and available on both PC and mobile.
The title features similar gameplay to the original Ragnarok Online, a highly-influencial MMORPG that was initially launched on PC in August 2022. Players traverse a vast open world environment, embarking on quests, taking on fearsome foes, and levelling-up their characters.
Ragnarok: Landverse adds blockchain-powered features to the experience, with on-chain collectibles and fungible token rewards that can be earned through gameplay. By refining adamantine fragments, players can earn the fungible token $ADAM – used for in-game upgrades, or exchanged for other cryptocurrencies.
What other Ragnarok-themed Web3 games are available?
Ragnarok: Landverse will become the second Ragnarok-themed Web3 game to debut on Ronin.
The first title is Ragnarok: Monster World – a Clash Royale-inspired mobile real-time strategy game that held its global launch in October 2024. Through progressing in the title, players earn $ZENY – a fungible token that powers the Monster World ecosystem.
In November 2024, Delabs Games announced that a third blockchain-based Ragnarok title would launch in Q1 2025 – an as-yet-untitled Telegram game.
