Leading NFT marketplace Rarible has added support for the recently-debuted Ethereum Layer-2 network Abstract, with an array of Abstract NFTs now available to trade.
Officially kicking-off on February 27, a number of Abstract-based PFPs, art, open editions and more are now available to trade on Rarible, including NFT collectibles from the likes of Nygilia, Andre Oshea and Shaylin Wallace.
On top of being able to trade Abstract NFTs on Rarible, by minting Abstract NFTs via Rarible, buyers will earn Abstract XP – a type of airdrop drop that is set to reward holders with an allocation of the Abstract ecosystem token, set to launch later this year.

What is Abstract?
Abstract is an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain developed by Igloo Inc. which held its mainnet launch in January 2025.
The Abstract Chain is the first major new project of Igloo Inc. – the company behind the Pudgy Penguins NFT collection. Its aim is to create “the dominant consumer crypto chain”, where “culture & community building and dedicated builder & brand support” are the focal points for how the blockchain operates.
Abstract is built from the ground-up to be focused on the consumer experience. Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins, has stated that with Abstract, he hopes to “change the dynamic of how users interact with blockchain technology and easily merge both the real and digital worlds.”
Despite a mixed launch, Abstract has been praised for its user experience improvements – particularly on mobile. The chain operates an Abstract XP system, rewarded users with XP points that will go towards an allocation of a future Abstract ecosystem token, set to arrive later in 2025.
What impact will this partnership have?
In Rarible’s own words, they are “extremely bullish on the future of Abstract” – and some of the biggest names in the Abstract ecosystem are equally thrilled to have Rarible’s support.
Popular Abstract NFT collection Bearish publicised their support for the move on X, whilst Abstract team member @brianjhhong remarked the news to be “Abstract coded”.
Rarible have developed a track-record for being ardent supporters of new blockchains – both through the main Rarible marketplace, and through their RaribleX white-label solution. Examples of more recent blockchains that are supported by Rarible include the likes of Matchain, Shape and Palm.
With Rarible’s reputation as early adopters – with a particular following of NFT art collectors – we can be sure this move will give a sizeable boost to the growing NFT art scene on the Abstract Chain.
